So to start off I want to apologize, this email is not going to be all that exciting, it was a pretty just
normal nothing too crazy week, and I don't have any pictures... So sorry about that.
So this week I got to go on two different exchanges, one with a companion of one of the district
leaders Elder Walker. He came here to my area and we had a good solid exchange. That day was
super cold, so thankfully we had a full day and did not have to spend really anytime outside, just
appointments and whatnot. We also ended up getting 2 new people that day which was super
awesome, it is always fun to switch things up for a day and just be with someone else.
The next exchange was with the APs, so I was with Elder Leota straight out of Compton. We had a
really good time on exchanges, most of our day was pretty filled as well, but we had about an hour
of finding in the morning. So we prayed to get into an apartment building, and guess what, prayers
work, so we got in the first big building we tried and where able to spend our whole time there. We
had some really good contacts and got to testify of the restored church which is really what brings the
joy in missionary work. One thing that cracks me up about Elder Leota is how just real he is with
people, he'll say things how they are. At one door we knock a few times and see someone repeatedly
coming to the peep hole, finally they answer and it was this lady with a massive knife and an apple in
her hand, we both take a step back, I mean can you blame us. Turns out this lady was on top of the
world high. She was all over the place, Elder Leota would ask her things like "Are you even going to
remember this?" Or "what you been smoking" It was a good time, 1000% she will not remember a
single word of our interaction, but its those crazy times that make the cities just interesting.
Also this week we had to help this member clean out a storage unit they had. We were driving behind
them with their ministering brother in a uhaul truck and we see their hazard lights turn on and then we
get a call, they ran out of gas... So we ended up pushing them to the nearest gas station and it was so
cold and windy outside, but we all survived, so hurrah.
Well that is all that is noteworthy this week, hope you are all doing great!
Have an amazing week!
Elder Pickering
